Here is the last version of a Solution Architect job description we prepared last fall – need to revise for XD.
Solution Architect Job Description
Competencies:
Interactive design (application, web), Information architecture, HCI
Ideal additional competencies:
Cognitive Psychology, Industrial Design, Human Factors

Adobe Flex and Adobe software suite
Role:
Knoware is a software studio that builds rich applications for desktop, web and embedded systems and is comprised of a team of designers, programmers and business strategists that draw from diverse professional backgrounds. Knoware builds solutions for a variety of markets and industries with the common emphasis on human-centered design to make the complex simple and the simple engaging. We are looking for individuals to reinforce this approach who love the challenge of designing user interfaces for powerful and impactful interactive experiences.
Solution Architects at Knoware set the pace for an application’s development from concept through deployment by designing the logic and UI model, building user flow diagrams, UI wireframes, rapid prototypes and support with usability testing and QA.
The candidate will also work closely with clients to take them through the process and shape the solution.

Graphic Designer
Employing visual specification and rapid prototyping techniques, we move iteratively through our process to deliver interactive solutions that satisfy both the informational and emotional needs of the intended user. This role’s focus is on the latter, requiring graphic design experience in a development environment.
Experience Architect
At Knoware, EA’s set the pace for an application’s development from concept through deployment by designing the logic and UI model, building flow diagrams, wireframes and rapid prototypes, and also support usability testing and QA. This person works closely with clients to take them through the process and shape the solution.
Interaction Designer (Adobe Flex)
This creative problem-solving role is responsible for designing, developing and implementing Flex applications to support client and user requirements. Interactive development experience with an intimate knowledge of Adobe tools is required for this senior-level job.
Knoware is a significant partner of Adobe and utilizes the Flex framework as our primary toolset for the design and creation of rich interactive applications. Members of Knoware have worked with Adobe (Macromedia) tools for over 10 years, contributing to recent releases of Flash, Flex and Air.
Knoware services an international client base that includes NEC, Bally Gaming, Johnson Controls, Chrysler, Control-4, Tiara Yachts, Steelcase, Informd Medical, X-Rite, Whirlpool, Honda, Siemens and others.
